ADULT FAITH FORMATION IN THE DIOCESE OF GALLOWAY

PROMOTING THE NEW EVANGELIZATION WITH THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

When Pope Benedict XVI in his Apostolic Letter “Porta Fidei” announced a “Year of Faith” to take place from 11  October 2012 to 24 November 2013, he specifically asked that serious effort be made to once again study the riches of the documents of the Second Vatican Council, and that the Catechism of the Catholic Church be recognised and studied as an important resource for deepening and increasing our
knowledge of the faith. Responding to the call of Pope Benedict, the adult faith formation programme in Galloway Diocese has looked at the four sections of the
Catechism by asking four different presenters to to provide four opportunities to reflect more deeply on the Catechism.

The topics and presenters were:

The Creed in the Catechism, by Fr William McFadden

The Sacraments in the Catechism, by Fr Mark Kelly

The Moral Teaching in the Catechism, by Fr Stephen
McGrattan

Prayer in the Catechism, by Fr Joe Boland

These presentations can be offered again in parish
or deanery locations if there is an interest. Simply
contact the presenters directly, or contact
Fr William McFadden on 01557 330687,
or by e mail on rcchurchkb@btinternet.com
